Coronavirus vaccines are now available at Hayward Fire Station 7 in South Hayward, the Hayward Fire Department announced Thursday.

The fire department began operating the site last month in partnership with the Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center and the Alameda County Public Health Department in an effort to make the vaccine more readily available to the city’s communities of color.

Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center patients and residents age 65 and older that work in the health care, emergency services, education, child care, food and agriculture industries are currently eligible to be vaccinated at the fire station, located at 28300 Huntwood Ave.

The number of available vaccine doses changes daily as the county’s vaccine supply allows, according to the fire department.

Eligible residents can add their name to the vaccination site’s waiting list by visiting https://tvhc.org/covid-19-vaccine/?mc_cid=a9022256ca&mc_eid=c46242cbba or texting their name and age to (510) 800-7198.
