The city of San Leandro has launched the first trilingual “warmline” phone service in an ongoing effort to help residents who have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
The service contacts professionals who are trained to provide emotional support, coronavirus testing site information and other social/medical services or referrals.
Based on the caller’s language preference, besides English, services will be provided in both Spanish and Chinese-language in both Cantonese and Mandarin dialects.
These services were made possible by the groups La Clinica De La Raza and Asian Health Services in partnership with the city of San Leandro.
For Spanish call 510-535-8480, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. For Cantonese and Mandarin, call 510-735-3940, Monday 1-3 p.m., Tuesday 1-5 p.m., Thursday 9 a.m.-noon and Friday 1-3 p.m.
