A virtual President’s Medal for Exemplary Service awards ceremony, where more than 30 community members who have provided extraordinary services during the COVID-19 pandemic will be honored by the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors Monday afternoon.
Among the honorees will be a high school student who launched a “Make A Mask Challenge;” a resident who was once homeless and now visits homeless encampments to provide sanitizer, hot meals, period products and soap; and others who have raised money for, or otherwise provided, protective gear for local hospital workers and ventilators for COVID-19 patients.
Each supervisor will also award the Supervisor’s Medal for Outstanding Service during the COVID-19 Pandemic and the Santa Clara County COVID-19 Service Medal to individuals, businesses, and organizations in their individual districts.
The virtual ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. Monday, when the supervisors’ regular closed session ends. Watch the ceremony by going to https://www.sccgov.org/sites/bos/Pages/Meetings.aspx.
