A new COVID-19 testing site will open in Windsor on Monday as part of Sonoma County’s plan to increase testing and reduce outbreaks.

The site is provided by a state partnership with health services company OptumServe. According to Dr. Sundari Mase, Sonoma County’s health officer, OptumServe sites have been able to administer 300 tests per day.

“Increased testing helps us to understand the spread of COVID-19 here in Sonoma County so that we can better care for our residents, lower the spread, and safely reopen our businesses and schools,” Sonoma County Supervisor Susan Gorin said in a press release.

The testing site is located at the Town of Windsor Bluebird Community Center at 25 Bluebird Drive. All California residents are eligible to receive a test, regardless of documentation status or insurance.
