Deborah Cooper has been sworn  as Contra Costa County’s clerk-recorder, filling the remaining three years of the term of Joe Canciamilla.

Cooper, who since Nov. 1 has been acting clerk-recorder, was sworn Feb. 4 during the weekly county Board of Supervisors meeting by Steve Weir, who was Contra Costa’s clerk-recorder from 1989 until he retired in 2013.
