Public transit enthusiasts are inviting the Bay Area community to join them on Sunday for the annual BART speedrun, an attempt to travel to every BART station as fast as possible, to celebrate the agency’s 54th birthday and the start of Transit Month.
Speedrunners will attempt to step foot in all 50 BART in about six hours in an event organized by two transit advocacy groups, the California High School Transit Alliance and the New Urbanism Initiative. The event starts at 10:37 a.m. from the Berryessa/North San Jose station on Sunday and will end in Antioch.
