Construction for safety project on SF’s 13th Street begins, expected to last 4 weeks

Construction on a safety project along 13th Street near the U.S. 101 Mission/Duboce off-ramp is scheduled to begin Monday, San Francisco Public Works said.

The approximately four-week project will add curb ramps, a protected bike lane, sidewalk extensions and traffic islands to improve safety for people walking and biking through the area.

Work will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding Labor Day, according to city officials.

Traffic-control barricades and lane reductions will remain in place after hours until construction is complete.

Motorists should expect delays, particularly during peak travel times. Traffic to Duboce Avenue and right turns onto Mission Street will remain available during construction.
