The San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District has received an initial Fire Risk Reduction Community designation from the California Board of Forestry and Fire Protection, recognizing its efforts to reduce wildfire risk and improve community preparedness, fire officials announced July 20.
The district is among more than 50 fire agencies, counties and cities statewide to earn the designation, which recognizes best practices in fire risk planning and mitigation.
