A bill to rename the Department of Veterans Affairs outpatient clinic in San Jose after fallen U.S. soldier Pat Tillman was passed by the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday.

Tillman, who was born in Fremont and grew up in the San Jose area, was an NFL star who rejected a three-year, $3.6 million contract extension from the Arizona Cardinals to become an Army Ranger in the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
