Jonathan Goulding, the former fire chief of Hollister, took over Monday as the new chief of the Vallejo Fire Department.

Goulding brings more than 25 years of fire service experience to Vallejo, including extensive leadership experience in emergency operations, training, fire prevention and administration, City Manager Harry Black said in a press release.

Goulding is a certified state fire training instructor and holds a master’s degree in public safety leadership and administration from Arizona State University, according to the city.

The Vallejo Fire Department said it responds to nearly 19,000 calls for service annually.
