Marin County election officials will open three additional vote centers Saturday for the June 2 statewide direct primary election and another 15 centers the Saturday before Election Day.

Most vote centers are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with expanded hours on Election Day. Available services include in-person voting, voter registration, ballot replacement and ballot drop-off.

The vote centers opening Saturday are:

  • Marin City: Senior Center, 640 Drake Ave.
  • Novato: United Methodist Church, 1473 S. Novato Blvd.
  • San Geronimo: Community Center, 6350 Sir Francis Drake Blvd.

“Voting early helps us process ballots sooner and gives voters more time to resolve any issues if needed,” said Registrar of Voters Natalie Adona.

The first vote center opened in early May at the elections department in Room 121 of the Marin County Civic Center in San Rafael. That site will be open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and weekends 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through June 1. On Election Day, extended hours will be 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

On Election Day, June 2, an additional vote center will open at the Albert J. Boro Community Center in San Rafael’s Canal neighborhood.

Voters can return ballots at any vote center or at any of the county’s 18 official ballot drop boxes.

Information about candidates, measures, district maps and vote-by-mail ballot tracking is available at MarinVotes.org. For more information, call (415) 473-6456.

Ruth Dusseault is an investigative reporter and multimedia journalist focused on environment and energy. Her position is supported by the California local news fellowship, a statewide initiative spearheaded by UC Berkeley aimed at supporting local news platforms. While a student at UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism (c’23), Ruth developed stories about the social and environmental circumstances of contaminated watersheds around the Great Lakes, Mississippi River and Florida’s Lake Okeechobee. Her thesis explored rights of nature laws in small rural communities. She is a former assistant professor and artist in residence at Georgia Tech’s School of Architecture, and uses photography, film and digital storytelling to report on the engineered systems that undergird modern life.
