Sausalito is hosting its annual Souper Bowl competition Saturday, when people will judge the best soup among participating restaurants in the city.

The first version of Sausalito’s Souper Bowl took place in 2016, the last time the Bay Area hosted the Super Bowl at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. Ten years and many bowls of soup later, the 11th annual contest on Saturday will include more than a dozen local restaurants and comes a day before the big football game returns to the Bay Area.

Wristbands to participate in the event have already sold out, though people can still join the wait list.

People who have a wristband can visit all participating restaurants between 1-4:30 p.m., taste their soups, and vote for a winner. Local businesses will also be offering discounts, specials, and giveaways to wristband holders, according to the city.

Last year’s winner was the Japanese restaurant Sushi Ran. More information about the contest and a full list of participating businesses can be found on the city’s website.
