A small crowd at the 46th annual Rusty Porthole Bar & Grill Frozen Bun Run was enthusiastic when wakeboarders and water skiers took on the chilly 53 degree Delta waters in Bethel Island on New Year’s Day.

The weather Thursday was warmer and wetter than the 2025 version of the annual event, which launches brave participants off of the Rusty Porthole restaurant’s dock to start the new year.
