A baby boy born in San Leandro appears to be the first baby born in 2026.
The boy was born at 12:03 a.m. at Kaiser Permanente San Leandro Medical Center.
He was shortly followed by another birth, a baby girl born at 12:07 a.m. at a Kaiser Permanente hospital as well.
The two babies appear to have been the only two babies born in the first hour of the new year.
The names of the two babies and their parents are not immediately available to the public.
