The East Side Union High School District in San Jose will hold two public hearings Friday as it moves toward electing its Board of Trustees by district rather than at large.
The first hearing, set for 6 p.m., will take public input on the proposed transition to a district-based election system and on draft maps that would define trustee areas.
A second hearing, scheduled for about 6:30 p.m., will focus on how trustee elections are sequenced or which trustee areas will be on the ballot in a given year and every four years thereafter.
Both hearings will take place in the district’s board room at 830 N. Capitol Ave., San Jose.
District officials are inviting staff, parents and community members to attend and weigh in. Questions can be directed to districting@esuhsd.org.
