A new resource hub will offer extensive information on all aspects of California school facilities. The National Center on School Infrastructure is housed at the University of California, Berkeley’s Institute of Urban and Regional Development and is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education.
The center will provide guidance and serve as a clearinghouse of best practices for local, state and national organizations and government agencies. Areas will include master planning, funding, data systems and accountability, according to the website. It will explore topics like the relationship between well-built facilities and student health and learning. It will also build a faculties database.
