‘Making roads safer’: $98K state grant will fund Salinas police traffic safety initiatives

The Salinas Police Department was awarded a $98,000 state grant for traffic safety enforcement. 

The grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety will support education, DUI checkpoints, officer certification programs and various safety enforcement operations to try to reduce serious injuries and deaths on roads. The grant will fund programs through September 2025, according to a press release from the police department.
