Early election results show Susannah Meyer in a strong lead for Brentwood’s mayor position and Faye Maloney and Jovita Mendoza likely to secure the two open council seats.
With 63.92% of the vote, Meyer pulled ahead of her opponent, Gerald Johnson (36.08%), for the mayoral seat, according to the initial results released at 8:15 p.m. And updated at 9:30 p.m. On Election Night. A call to the Contra Costa County Registrar of Voters confirmed that a final update for the night will be at 1:30 a.m.
In District 1, Maloney led with 63.41% of the vote over her opponent Anita Roberts (36.59%), who currently chairs the Brentwood Planning Commission.
For the District 3 council seat, early results showed Mendoza with 54.87% of the vote over her opponent, Brian Oftedal (45.13%).
