Family roots run deep with Napa Valley labor force, where most farmworkers are parents

Three-quarters of Napa Valley’s farmworkers are parents, refuting the perception that the workforce is dominated by younger, single men, according to a county assessment.

Most Napa County farmworkers are women and men either living with their children or supporting two households — one for their children and a second near their work, Napa County Supervisor Joelle Gallagher said, citing results of the Napa County Farmworker Housing Needs and Impacts Assessment report.
