A summertime tradition returns to the fairgrounds in Stockton this Friday when the San Joaquin County Fair celebrates its opening day.

Clowns, balloons, violins on fire, carnival rides, food and more will be on the entertainment schedule for visitors to the three-day fair, according to its website.
