Davis, who joined Sonoma Water in 2007 and has served as general manager since 2010, will retire on Aug. 25, agency officials said in a statement Monday.

“Serving as Sonoma Water’s general manager has been the honor of my career,” Davis said. “I was fortunate to work alongside incredibly talented and dedicated people whose commitment to public service made every accomplishment possible.”

Sonoma Water board chair and Sonoma County Supervisor Rebecca Hermosillo credited Davis with strengthening the agency and building partnerships that will benefit the region for years to come.

According to agency officials, Davis led Sonoma Water in finishing projects such as the habitat restoration along Dry Creek, updates to Lake Mendocino’s water operations using improved forecasting, a new Bay Area weather radar network to improve atmospheric river forecasting, and a $47.8 million state grant for wastewater improvements in the Russian River County Sanitation District.

The Sonoma Water board has not yet announced a successor.
