A mother and her adult son were arrested in Novato this month after the Marin County Sheriff’s Office allegedly intercepted a package of narcotics that was destined for their address.
The sheriff’s office alleged that it received information that a package containing 400 tablets of Tapentadol, a type of opioid similar to oxycodone, along with other drugs, was being sent to the residence of 71-year-old Carolyn Connor and her son, 37-year-old Eric Garcia.
A search warrant was served at the residence and the two were taken into custody on Wednesday after a brief standoff with Garcia, according to the sheriff’s office.
A search of the residence allegedly revealed other illegal substances such as LSD, MDMA, cocaine, ketamine, and evidence of sales, including scales.
Garcia and Connor were booked into Marin County Jail and are facing numerous drug-related accusations, the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
