The federal Bureau of Land Management announced it has lifted seasonal fire restrictions on BLM land in the Bay Area.
The change announced Nov. 19 means visitors can once again enjoy campfires and use portable stoves at campsites on BLM-managed land.
BLM lands in the region include Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument — spanning Napa, Solano, Mendocino, Lake, Yolo and Glenn counties — and Fort Ord National Monument in Monterey County, among others.
A California campfire permit is required for campfires and portable stoves. Permits can be obtained at BLM, U.S. Forest Service or Cal Fire offices, or online.
BLM has also lifted restrictions on recreational target shooting and the use of internal combustion engines for off-road and trail use.
