The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am golf tournament is teeing off this week in Monterey County, with returning champion Rory McIlroy making the first start of his PGA Tour season.
The four-day tournament starting Thursday is the first signature event of the tour’s 2026 season, meaning there is a limited field of only 80 players and a higher purse of $20 million. Along with McIlroy, other top players will include World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Tommy Fleetwood, Shane Lowry and Jordan Speith.
McIlroy last February won the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am by two shots over Lowry to earn a $3.6 million top prize, then two months later won the Masters to become the sixth golfer ever to win all four of golf’s major tournaments. He is making his 2026 PGA Tour debut this week after previously playing tournaments this year overseas and in the TGL indoor golf simulator league he started along with Tiger Woods.
The first two rounds of the AT&T tournament will be played on Thursday and Friday, with 80 professional players and 80 amateur celebrities and VIPs like football star Travis Kelce playing two courses — Pebble Beach Golf Links and nearby Spyglass Hill Golf Course.
The final two rounds are played at Pebble Beach, which is among the most beautiful but most expensive public courses in the country, with green fees currently starting at $675 per round. Pebble Beach will also host one of golf’s major tournaments next year, the 2027 U.S. Open.
