Antioch Animal Services said this week they’re expecting 10 large dogs coming in from a residence on Thursday, which will put the shelter over its capacity.

The new dogs won’t be immediately available for adoption, but the shelter is trying to alleviate its overpopulation problem by waiving fees on all current pets in the shelter.

“We need the adoption and rescue community to step up for our existing pets to help them get out,” the shelter wrote on social media Tuesday.

Shelter officials also said they can assist rescues with transport and their staff are great matchmakers who can help people find their perfect pet.
