There’s good news ahead: Both the coastal and central Bay Area are expected to have good air quality Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District said Sunday.
All three days are coded green on the Air Quality Index issued by the Air District. This index uses colors to indicate how healthy the air is to breathe each day. The colors range from green to purple, with green being the best air quality and purple being the worst.
Green indicates good air quality; yellow is moderate air quality; orange is unhealthy for sensitive groups, red unhealthy, purple unhealthy and maroon is hazardous.
Air quality for Sunday is yellow, meaning air quality is acceptable. However, there may be a risk for some people, particularly those who are unusually sensitive to air pollution.
