One Marin County Board of Supervisors election could be headed to a runoff while another appears to be decided in favor of the incumbent based on preliminary election results from late Tuesday night.
Vying for the District 2 board seat are San Anselmo Town Councilmember Brian Colbert, former Kentfield School District board nember Heather McPhail Sridharan, Ross Valley School District board nember Ryan O’Neil and Larkspur City Councilmember Gabe Paulson.
If any of the candidates earns more than 50 percent of the vote, they will replace Katie Rice when she departs in January 2025, otherwise the top two vote-getters will face each other in a runoff in the Nov. 5 general election.
As of late Tuesday, Colbert was ahead with 2,649 votes, a little more than 40 percent of the total, while McPhail Sridharan, in second place, had 1,693, about 26 percent of the total.Â
Paulson was third with 1,133 votes, O’Neil had 998 and Sam Friedlander had 1, according to early returns from the Marin County Registrar of Voters.
District 4 Supervisor Dennis Rodoni was ahead of his opponent, Francis Drouillard, with 4,259 votes to 1,354 — or nearly 76 percent of the vote to Drouillard’s 24 percent.
In the Larkspur City Council election, Stephanie Andre was running ahead of her two opponents with 925 votes, or a little more than 56 percent, while Claire Paquette had 415 votes and Lana Scott had 296.
In the Ross Town Council election, where three seats are up for grabs, William Kircher Jr. had 175 votes, Mathew Salter had 174, Teri Dowling had 160 and Shadi Aboukhater had 58, according to early returns.
