Contra Costa County’s health department is facing a projected $730 million deficit over the next five years because of federal and state funding cuts, county health officials said at Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting.

Contra Costa Health provides managed-care health plans and medical care to county residents, as well as public health programs and regulations for local industries that affect public health.
