Fourteen longshore workers from Hawaii joined more than 100 protesters at Crockett’s C&H Sugar Refining Company factory for a rally Monday ahead of negotiations between striking warehouse workers and C&H administrators.
The strike started on June 15 following a dispute between workers and the company over a contract renewal offer that workers say reduces overtime and sick days and ends retiree medical benefits. Negotiations between C&H and International Longshore Workers United Local 6, which represents warehouse workers, are being held Monday and Wednesday.
