Mountain View suspended its free shuttle service until at least this week due to the operator’s expired California Public Utilities Commission license.

A city notice released Thursday notified residents that the Mountain View Transportation Management Association, or MTMA, halted both Mountain View Community Shuttles and MVgo Shuttles for the day and the service will remain shut down through at least Wednesday.

According to the MTMA, Uber vouchers are being provided to riders affected by the service interruption.

MTMA is currently in discussion with shuttle operator WeDriveU to explore options for a temporary shuttle service while they wait for the state certification to be restored. WeDriveU operates around the country for both private and public agencies, including university, hospital, public transit and corporate shuttles, according to the company’s website.

The Mountain View Community Shuttle operates on weekdays and weekends in a loop with 50 stops clockwise and counterclockwise throughout the city. The MVgo Shuttle service operates only on weekdays and includes four routes to North Bayshore, East Whisman, San Antonio and downtown Mountain View. Both services were suspended as of Thursday.
