San Francisco City Attorney David Chiu has filed a lawsuit against the owners and operators of Corner Store, a convenience store in the Tenderloin accused of selling controlled substances and contributing to criminal activity in the neighborhood, the City Attorney’s Office announced Thursday.
The lawsuit alleges the business at 401 Eddy St. violated state and local laws by selling methamphetamine, cannabis and illegal tobacco products, while also operating as a public nuisance, a press release noted.
According to the complaint, the San Francisco Police Department responded to multiple incidents involving theft, vandalism, and arrests at or near the store between 2023 and 2025.
During a coordinated inspection in November 2025, investigators reportedly seized methamphetamine, nearly five pounds of cannabis, a ghost gun, illegal tobacco products and drug paraphernalia from the store, city prosecutors said.
The city is seeking financial penalties and a court order to shut down the store for one year while the case proceeds.
