Mayor Daniel Lurie has signed legislation approving new labor agreements between the city and the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 798 covering firefighters, paramedics, and emergency medical technicians, his office announced Friday.

The agreement will take effect July 1 and run through June 30, 2030.

City officials said the deal is intended to support public safety services while helping recruit and retain first responders amid ongoing budget challenges.

According to a press release issued by the Mayor’s Office, under the contract, union members will receive 3% annual wage increases during the first three years, followed by a 5% increase in the final year.

The agreement also includes a 3% increase by the end of 2029 for training and educational achievement, and a 4% premium for experienced officers, those with 23 years or more of service, and assigned to weekend training.

“This agreement will ensure we are investing in our firefighters, paramedics, and EMTs for the work they do every single day,” Mayor Lurie said in a statement.
