Gov. Gavin Newsom has appointed two new judges to the Santa Clara County Superior Court, court officials announced.
Maren Clouse and Mary Procaccio-Flowers were appointed on April 16 to fill vacancies left by retiring judges, according to the Superior Court.
Clouse has served as chief deputy city attorney in the San Jose City Attorney’s Office since 2016. She previously worked in private practice, including roles at Hogan Lovells and Heller Ehrman. She earned her law degree from Stanford Law School and fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Thang N. Barrett.
Procaccio-Flowers has served as a law clerk for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California since 2025. She previously held teaching roles at Santa Clara University School of Law and worked in private practice at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. She earned her law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law and fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Erica R. Yew.
