The Little Lake Grange in Willits will be holding a “local food security” town hall Saturday about food distribution, community gardens, emergency food supplies, and more.
Local organizations, county representatives, and other community members will be at the meeting to discuss resources available in Mendocino County for families experiencing food insecurity.
At November’s town hall at the same venue regarding food resources, a large crowd of concerned residents convened to talk about various topics such as building your own gardens and where to find your local food pantries.
At that event, Mendocino County 3rd District Supervisor John Haschak addressed the importance of coming together during times of struggle and uncertainty, especially in the future.
“I think there will be more events because of the cuts of federal social service programs,” Haschak said at November’s town hall. “I think our community comes together when trying to fix those problems at a local level. People try to figure out solutions.”
Saturday’s “local food security” town hall will be held at the Little Lake Grange at 291 School St. in Willits. It will begin at 11 a.m. and conclude at 1 p.m.
