The city of Concord has received a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety to upgrade its traffic crash dashboard and create a more comprehensive data platform aimed at improving road safety, city officials announced.
The grant, which runs through September 2026, will support development of a next-generation system that combines historical crash data with real-time sensor information to help the city respond more proactively to traffic safety concerns, a news release issued Tuesday noted.
Mayor Laura Nakamura said the upgraded system will improve how crash data are collected and analyzed, allowing the city to better identify safety needs and prioritize solutions.
The enhanced dashboard will integrate high-injury network analysis, real-time law enforcement alerts, asset tracking, and artificial intelligence tools designed to provide predictive insights.
City officials said the system will help guide enforcement efforts, project planning, and long-term safety evaluations.
Funding is provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
