Students in the Calistoga Joint Unified School District will soon be able to use their school IDs as library cards under a new partnership with the Napa County Library, county officials announced.
Beginning Jan. 12, 2026, when students return from winter break, student ID numbers will provide automatic access to Napa County Library services, including physical books, e-books, audiobooks, online research databases, and live homework help available seven days a week, a news release noted.
No separate library sign-up will be required.
District officials said the program is designed to remove barriers to learning by giving every student direct access to library resources using an ID they already have.
Students will be able to borrow up to five books or media items from any Napa County Library location, access digital content such as movies, music and educational apps, and participate in library programs including tutoring, workshops, book clubs, and STEAM activities.
They will also be able to use library spaces, computers and nontraditional items such as musical instruments, games and learning tools.
