Caltrain is inviting its riders to fill four seats on its committee that helps shape how commuters who use bikes, scooters, or other active transportation modes access the transit agency’s rail system.
In a statement on Wednesday, officials of Caltrain said it is seeking a public-agency representative from San Francisco County, a public-agency representative from San Mateo County, a bicycle advocacy group representative from San Mateo County, and a member of the general public from Santa Clara County to join its Bicycle & Active Transportation Advisory Committee, or BATAC.
The nine-member volunteer committee includes a public-agency staff member, a bicycle advocacy representative and a general public member from each of the counties of San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara, which Caltrain serves.
Applications are due on Jan. 2, and can be submitted through www.caltrain.com/batac or by calling 650-508-6391. The committee meets every other month at 5:45 p.m., and all meetings are open to the public.
