Much of the national park dedicated to Rosie the Riveter — immortalized in a World War II poster with the words “We Can Do It!” — remains open to the public, although the federal government shutdown has closed the visitor center, supporters say.

The Rosie the Riveter WWII Home Front National Historical Park’s sites are still accessible along Richmond’s Bay Trail waterfront, such as the Rosie the Riveter Memorial, Kaiser Shipyards and SS Red Oak Victory Ship, according to the nonprofit Rosie the Riveter Trust.

“Even during the shutdown, the stories of grit and determination that took place on the WWII home front are still here and accessible for all,” Sarah Pritchard, executive director of trust, said in a news release.
