A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck just over a mile southeast of Berkeley early Monday morning, the United States Geological Survey said.

The quake hit at 2:56 a.m. at a depth of more than 4 miles, according to the USGS. The tremor was reportedly felt across the Bay Area.

No information on possible damage or casualties was immediately released by authorities.

According to the U.S. National Tsunami Warning Center, a tsunami is not expected following the quake.
