A man accused of pepper-spraying two victims during a robbery involving Pokémon trading cards was arrested after crashing his electric scooter the following day, Vallejo police said.
The attack occurred July 7 when two people arranged to sell Pokémon cards through an online marketplace. Instead of completing the transaction, the suspect allegedly attacked them with pepper spray and fled the scene on an electric scooter, police said.
Both victims were able to identify the suspect through a photo lineup. On July 8, authorities said, the same suspect was involved in a traffic collision and was taken into custody.
Police did not release the suspect’s name or the value of the stolen merchandise.
