The San Francisco Police Department’s Real-Time Investigation Center will move into a new downtown headquarters, thanks to a $9.4 million in-kind donation from fintech company Ripple, Mayor Daniel Lurie announced.
The upgraded space will enhance SFPD’s crime-fighting capabilities with state-of-the-art technology and equipment funded by the San Francisco Police Community Foundation and Crankstart, the press release noted.
Since its launch in March 2024, the RTIC has supported over 500 arrests and contributed to a 41% drop in auto theft.
Meanwhile citywide crime has declined by nearly 30% under Mayor Lurie’s administration.
“The Real-Time Investigation Center has supported our understaffed Police Department and helped keep our neighborhoods safe,” said Mayor Lurie. “With this new facility, the SFPD will have the tools and the technology it needs to take this work to the next level and help our officers keep our streets safe.”
