Drivers soon may want to be on their best behavior when rolling through the streets of Tracy.
Tracy police recently announced the launch of a new red-light camera program that will see several cameras placed at intersections around the city in the coming weeks.
The program is beginning with a camera at the intersection of Eleventh Street and Corral Hollow Road. Other intersections planned for camera installations include Tracy Boulevard and Eleventh Street, International Parkway and West Schulte Road, and Grant Line and Naglee roads, police said.
Registered owners of vehicles caught running a red light at one of the intersections during a 30-day warning period will receive a notice in the mail but no fine. After the warning period ends, fines will be sent via mail to the alleged offenders.
The city contracted with the company Verra Mobility on the cameras. More information on the program can be found on the police department’s website.
