Major Daniel Lurie has appointed the chief operations and experience officer for the San Francisco Giants to the board of the Metropolitan Transportation Agency board of directors.

Alfonso Felder was named Friday to the agency that oversees the Muni railway and bus system, as well as bicycling, parking garages, traffic infrastructure, pedestrian walkways and taxis.

In nearly three decades with the Giants, he supervised Oracle Park’s daily operations, managing capital improvement projects, and planning transportation systems for large-scale events, according to the mayor’s office.

Felder also played a role in the development of the Giants’ Mission Rock project and the team’s spring training operations in Scottsdale, Ariz., the mayor’s office said in a press release Friday.
