Fairfield’s Police Department has upgraded access to law enforcement data through an internet-based Police Transparency Portal.
The portal is intended to be more user friendly than the interface on the city website, police said Saturday on social media.
“This portal, and ensuring vital information and statistics are more accessible to members of the community, will play a large part in ensuring the community’s trust in us is both warranted and well earned,” Police Chief Dan Marshall said in a statement.
The portal allows members of the public to request a police record and search requests made by others. It also links to crime statistics including hate crimes.
