With amazing views and no traffic congestion, the most glamorous commute from Richmond to San Francisco just might be the ferry, and Friday is the last chance to take it for free.

The free ferry ride between Richmond and San Francisco started November 1 and has its final day Friday. The ferry takes about 35 minutes to get from Richmond to Embarcadero and Mission in San Francisco, according to transit officials.

The free fare was made possible through a partnership with the Contra Costa Transportation Authority, according to officials with San Francisco Bay Area Water Emergency Transportation Authority, the public transit agency that operates the San Francisco Bay Ferry system.

The Richmond ferry operates 14 trips per day on weekdays and five trips per day on the weekend, according to the agency’s website. A one-way trip is $4.70, with discount tickets at $2.30, and children under 5 ride free.

The Richmond terminal is at 1453 Harbour Way S in Richmond, near Rosie the Riveter National Historical Park.
