It’s probably not a great idea to do donuts of front of police.
It’s really not a great idea while on probation for DUI.
On a recent Sunday afternoon, Richmond police officers were near Chesley Avenue and Second Street on an unrelated call when a driver decided to start doing donuts in front of the officers.
Turns out, police may not like donuts so much after all.
For those who didn’t drive fast cars or recklessly in high school, a donut is an exhibition of speed whereby one leaves a circular configuration on the pavement, like a big donut.
It absolutely got officers’ attention and resulted in the vehicle being stopped. A quick check showed the driver shouldn’t have been driving in the first place, due to his driver’s license being suspended for a DUI.
While they were on a roll, police went ahead and checked the vehicle’s engine and located several illegal modifications, earning the owner a special trip to a state referee station to ensure the modifications were removed. (He was required to wait 30 days to schedule his inspection).
