The San Francisco Department of Elections on Tuesday got closer to getting all the votes counted from last week’s election.
The department said late Tuesday it counted another 6,466 ballots Tuesday, bringing the total to 153,000 ballots counted.
Election officials said in a statement Tuesday they estimate workers have another 18,200 ballots to count, including 3,700 vote-by-mail ballots and 14,500 provisional ballots, cast at polling places and the City Hall Voting Center.
Ballot processing will continue from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday.
The process is open to public observation in-person and via livestream. The department will release more preliminary results at 4 p.m. Wednesday, which will be posted on their website.
