ELECTION NIGHT IS EXCITING. And there’s no need to just sit home Tuesday, waiting for the results to show up on television.
The are several watch parties happening in public places all over the Bay Area.
Throughout the day, Stanford University is hosting its Fourth Annual Democracy Day event at Meyer Green, 560 Escondido Mall, Stanford. At 3 p.m., “Money in the Dark vs. Money in Plain Sight: Money Politics in Thailand vs. USA,” a conversation that includes Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Illinois, Li Ka Shing Center, Room 130, 291 Campus Drive, Palo Alto.
At 6:30 p.m. there will be a keynote conversation with Valerie Jarrett, CEO of the Obama Foundation and former senior advisor to President Obama, Dinkelspiel Auditorium, 471 Lagunita Drive, Stanford. At 7 p.m., the official Election Night watch party starts at Treehouse, 459 Lagunita Drive, at Stanford.
At 11:30 a.m., former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown will host a luncheon at John’s Grill, 63 Ellis St., San Francisco.
At 3:30 p.m., Save Alameda for Everyone, a committee formed to recall Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price, will hold a watch party. The event will include families of homicide victims and business owners, at Buffet Fortuna, 1330 Washington Ave., San Leandro.
At 4 p.m., Oakland United to Recall (Mayor) Sheng Thao will hold a watch party at 330 Second St., Oakland.
At 5 p.m., Manny’s SF will host a watch party on the block outside the venue at 3092 16th St., San Francisco.
Also at 5 p.m., the Mendocino County Republican Party will hold a watch party at 367 N. State St., #105, Ukiah.
At 5 p.m., Curio bar will hold an Election Night watch party at 775 Valencia St. in San Francisco.
At 6 p.m., UC Berkeley’s Institute of Governmental Studies will hold a watch party at 109 Philosophy Hall at UC Berkeley.

Also at 6 p.m., the San Mateo County Republican Party will hold a watch party. The event has sold out, but more information can be found on the website.
At 6 p.m., Sonoma Valley Democrats will hold a watch party at Seven Flags Clubhouse, 300 International Blvd., Sonoma.
At 6:30 p.m., the Inland Mendocino Democratic Club will hold a watch party at Alex Rorabaugh Recreation Center, 1640 S. State St., Ukiah.
At 7 p.m., Empower Oakland will hold a watch party with Oakland mayoral candidate Loren Taylor at Bloc15, 252 Second St., Oakland. An RSVP is needed to attend.
At 7 p.m., the Oakland branch of the NAACP will hold a watch party at Scott’s Seafood Grill & Bar at Jack London Square, 2 Broadway, Oakland. An RSVP is needed. Contact Cynthia Adams.
At 7 p.m., KALW journalists Rose Aguilar and Hana Baba will lead a watch party at 111 Minna St. in San Francisco.

At 7:30 p.m., Concord city council candidate Carlyn Obringer will hold an Election Night celebration at Epidemic Ales, 150 Mason Circle in Concord.
Also at 7:30 p.m., Black Women Organized for Political Action, National Coalition of 100 Black Women, and Urban League of Greater San Francisco Bay Area will host a watch party at Chicken & Waffles, 247 Fourth St., Oakland.
At 7:30 p.m., Congressman Jerry McNerney (who’s running for state senate), Tracy City Councilmember Dan Arriola (who is running to be Tracy’s mayor), and Dotty Nygard and Cliff Hudson (both running for Tracy City Council) will host a watch party at Casa Grande Mexican Bar and Grill at 30 W. 11th Street in Tracy.
At 8 p.m., the San Francisco Democratic Party will hold a watch party, including State Sen. Scott Wiener, San Francisco City Attorney David Chiu, Assemblymember Matt Haney, and San Francisco Assessor Recorder Joaquin Torres, at 901 Market St., San Francisco.
At 8 p.m., San Francisco mayoral candidate Mark Farrell will host a watch party at Campus, 2241 Chestnut Street in San Francisco. The event will double as a party for the Yes on Proposition D effort.
At 8:30 p.m., San Francisco Mayor London Breed will hold a watch party that’s also for the Yes on B and Yes on O campaigns, at Little Skillet, 360 Ritch St. in San Francisco.
