The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety has issued an advisory warning against a telephone scam with a caller posing as Deputy Chief Aaron Johnson.
“Someone is posing as our Deputy Chief Johnson and asking people for their bank and personal information in relation to a federal investigation,” the department said in a press release on Saturday. “THIS IS NOT REAL.”
The department cautioned members of the public not to give out banking or personal information to anyone claiming to be a member of Rohnert Park DPS.
