Contra Costa County Superior Court has activated its defendant portal for traffic matters.

As of Tuesday, people can use the court’s traffic public portal to schedule their own arraignment times and view copies of their citations via the defendant portal.

The portal allows people to set arraignments at available times that best match their schedule and reduces the potential for confusion in the arraignment process.

What the Contra Costa County Superior Court’s traffic public portal may lack in style it makes up for with utility. The new online tool lets users schedule their arraignment time and reduces the potential for confusion in the process. (Screenshot via cmsportal.cc-courts.org)

The traffic portal also includes link to the defendant portal. A separate page contains additional information concerning the court’s processes for traffic matters.

The defendant portal is part of the court’s commitment to expanding access to justice through use of technology. It follows both the activation of the traffic portal and MyCitations, allowing users to look up citations online and to request fee reductions, extensions in time, or community service alternatives based on their financial situation.
